Any ideas how to celebrate a 100th. birthday?

100th Birthday Party Idea

cake decorating - guest can have their own mini cake or cupcake to decorate. They can use icing tips, pastry bags, and more to learn the art of cake decorating! Plus, they get to eat their treat at the end of decorating it!

Decorate the party room with posters and advertisements for vitamins, exercise equipment, liposuction. (You can get small ads and have them blown up poster size at Kinko's.)

Request the guests bring "how to stay young" gag gifts such as vanishing cream, books, magazine, wrinkle free creams, keep regular pills, prune juice, etc.

Set up a buffet with "healthy foods".

Focus the party around the person's hobby or interests. If they like to fish, decorate the room in fish cutouts. Use an Under the Sea tableware pattern and serve a seafood buffet.

Blow up a picture of the birthday person to poster size, or have a large cut out created that's self-standing and have it at the entrance.

Design the party around their vocation. Dress up as patients for a doctor, students for a teacher, etc. Decorate to suit the theme with X-rays and stethoscopes for the doctor; pencils, books and maps for the teacher.

Collect baby pictures, year books and other mementos from the guest-of-honor's childhood and turn them into a centerpiece for the table.

something small, with a few of her closest friends and family. get them to bring some food, like a potluck or whatevs. and i suggest not to bring much alcohol and dont blast the music to loud...teehee ;D

Have it through the years like 1908, 1918, 1928 etc etc so its themed and give each person a way of dressing say like you 10 are 30's you 10 are 80's like that. and then she'll have the memories  and you could dig the photos she has out from each era and blow them up or create a slide show.

The cake shoud be a big 100 but not 100 candles, you can get those number candles. and if money isn't an object get her a snazzy car to arrive in.

I wouldn't say have a dj, but maybe a quiet one.

We had a huge b/day party last weekend for my Grans 100th.We hired a Limo before the party started,to take her around the place were she grew up and then on to one of our new landmarks.

On the day of her actual birthday,the Mayor came to see her and she got a card off the Queen,,quite basic :(.The day after her telegram arrived from the department of works and pensions (much better)

Btw ,,a good idea is to get a guest book for all who attend to sign and write a little message in.It's a lovely keepsake :)

you could have a themed party, like the war or somethink since she lived through it.

I think you should have a memory party, get everyone to bring a photo of themselves when they were little and get them to tell everyone abouts theyre memory and get everyone to bring a photo of the gran and then the gran has to say when it was, you cant beat reminising, its great fun, you should also do her a cake and balloons and stuff like you would do at a normal party
