Question:

Grannyjill's Trigee - Do you like it?

This is a true story - yesterday my dear one was 71 - the clan gathered - and to-day I am cataloguing the storm damage! (not really, only superficial wounds inflicted)

Giggling kids, having fun..........It's Grandad's Birthday - 7lst

Eating food on the run........ .....Kids stuffing cake until they burst

They are sick, baby's posseting..Bedlam, riots and chaos reign

Mums are far too busy gossiping...Will the house ever be the same?

'It's late, kids should be in bed!'...Who cares if a little sleep they miss

Granny sighs and shakes her head..Grandad wants his birthday kiss.

(posseting - when a baby brings up sick!)

  1. This is an exceptional Trigee...two distinct poems that fit flawlessly together.  Excellent job.

  2. That's a crackerjack!

    Posseting = kit check

  3. How absolutely adorable!

I was right there hearing it all,

    feeling the exhaustion

and love from the birthday boy!

    Thanks, I loved it!

    ma

  4. Very well done, my compliments.  Thanks for the definition.  Some call it puking, others call it regurgitating, and still others in poetic form call it "unveilings of memories swallowed."

I liked the fact that the lines are long, harder to do, but from a flow standpoint, much more coherent.

  5. Very descriptive ! U made me live the moments by bringing all those different scenes. U made a good plot, a good scenario, and a vivid 3 dimensional ( dynamic) colored picture (short documentary) .U handled the trigee in a simple flow of imagination, to bring out the beauty of the occasion as well as of this form of poetry. I can add nothing but a star. Hope U the best.

  6. Delightful and vivid, with a cadence all its own..dare I say I'm GOBSMACKED!!  Way to go Granny...

  7. Tell Gramps Happy Bleated Birthday, and tell yourself Good Job!

  8. I would like to nominate this as the trigee of all trigees (that is: it should be used as an example of what a trigee is whenever shadowpoetry gets around to adding it to their types of poetry page or maybe some other site--one particular one comes to mind). I know I'm not an official judge on the board of trignificance, but this one told a good story (well three), and it rhymed rather nicely.

Oh yeah, the question--I loved it.

  9. To quote Jellz, "Projectile Love"!

What a happy scene of bedlam, Happy Birthday to Grandad!

    A very happy Trigee!

  10. Great mood setter and visual.  Hope you had a good day.

  11. Three cheers for Granny's Trigee!

I absolutely love it reads perfectly all 3 ways!

    Happy Birthday Grandad!

  12. A rhyming Trigee. With METER, too. I expected no less from you.

    Marvelous!

  13. ohhhhhhh,,,,, my.

you hit the event right between the eyes with this delightful bit of writing.

4 weeks ago we celebrated my step dad's 85th,,,

9 of his stepchildren, 3 natural children, all with spouses or S.O.

    21 grand children,

all 11 great grand kids, 3 under the age of 2

it was a wild, wild, zany madhouse

  14. And it RHYMED! Grannyjill, you never cease to amaze me. Give your dear one a birthday kiss on the cheek for me, and then tell him I told him that he has a beautiful, poetic wife. Thanks for the smile on my face right now.

  15. lol it's good

    typical british 'summer' ;) =]

  16. excellent, splendid, enjoyable, G-rated fun
