Granstrom and Johansson stand out in Halmstad - Swedish Long Course Nationals 2011
Martina Granstrom, Jennie Johansson and Johand Johansson dominated their respective events of the Women’s 200m butterfly, 50m breast-stroke and Men’s 100m breast-stroke categories, at the Swedish Long Course Nationals in Halmstad, Sweden, on Thursday, June
30.
Granstrom took home the Women’s 200m butterfly title with a sterling time of 2 minutes and 09.26 seconds, to beat her previous record of 2 minutes and 09.75 seconds. Marko-Varga earned second place honours with a time of 2 minutes and 12.73 seconds, while
Ida Sandin finished third in 2 minutes and 15.04 seconds.
Jennie Johansson captured the Women’s 50m breast-stroke event with a winning time of 30.98 seconds. Her performance moved her to seventh spot in the international swimming rankings in the current year. Ejdervik rounded out the top two in 31.32 seconds and
Sofia Johansson finished third in a time of 32.30 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m breast-stroke event, Johan Johansson earned first place honours with a winning time 1 minute and 03.63 seconds. Meanwhile, Dorchester wound up second in 1 minute and 03.75 seconds and Niklas Tour settled third in a time of 1 minute and
03.88 seconds.
Fagundez took home the Women's 800m freestyle title with a triumphant time of 8 minutes and 55.85 seconds. Rebecka Ekelund secured second spot in 9 minutes and 01.05 seconds, while Annika Jonsson rounded out the top three in 9 minutes and 03.97 seconds.
Earlier, Sarah Sjostrom captured the Women’s 100m freestyle race with a winning time of 54.43 seconds, whereas, Gabriella Fagundez wound up second in 55.01 seconds. Ida Marko-Varga was placed third in a time of 55.17 seconds.
In the Men’s 200m back-stroke event, Kristian Kron grabbed the title with a winning time of 2 minutes and 01.63 seconds, while Mattias Carlsson earned second spot in 2 minutes and 01.67 seconds. Martin Nilsson settled third in 2 minutes and 06.35 seconds.
Henriette Stenkvist won the Women’s 200m back-stroke event with a time of 2 minutes and 13.32 seconds. Svendsen wound up second in 2 minutes and 13.77 seconds, while Ida Lindborg earned third place honours in 2 minutes and 16.50 seconds.
