Grant Flower rejoins Zimbabwe after six years

Flower had been one of the Zimbabwean players who had rebelled against the Zimbabwe Cricket and was subsequently dropped from the side. He had then gone to England to play county cricket for Essex and was a part of the Essex squad for a period of six seasons.
However, he returned back to Zimbabwe two months ago to join the Zimbabwean side as the batting coach and a player-coach of one of the Zimbabwean franchise.
Flower was one of the best players that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 had and he was one of the batsmen that the opposition would look to try and get out sooner than later. He had played in 67 Tests and made almost 3500 Test runs at around 30, and in 219 ODIs he scored 6536 runs
at 33.69.

a step up.” Flower made 527 runs in the season at an average of 66, and assisted the side in getting to the semi-final of the Clydesdale Bank 40 competition.
Flower will continue to play the role of batting coach apart from being the batsmen and acknowledged that it could get difficult at the international level. He said, "It can be awkward if I don't. If it works, however, it can come out in positive fashion."
Flower joins a list of international players like Allan Donald, Jason Gillespie and Chris Harris to join the Zimbabwean team in some or the other capacity as the coach.
