Grant Green makes way onto Oakland Athletics’ 40-man roster – MLB Update
Infielder Grant Green has been placed onto Oakland Athletics’ 40-man roster. The A’s management took a slight bold decision and added Green onto 40-man roster along with right hander Michael Ynoa.
Green is a good player and has changed several positions during his career. During the past two seasons in the Minors, Green remained consistent and impressed many with his performance.
He won many games for the Athletics’ Minor League affiliates and performed with confidence. Athletics picked him in 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. He started with Athletics Minor League affinities and performed with great temperament.
On the other hand, the Athletics also added Ynoa on their 40-man roster. During his time of signing with the Athletics, he was considered one of most highly paid Minor Leaguer.
“Grant has adjusted well to everything we've asked of him over the last two seasons, He continues to excel offensively and will certainly receive consideration in spring training as we make decisions in the infield," assistant general manager David Forst said in an e-mail and explained about Athletics’ two new potential Major Leaguers.
"Michael took a big step last year as he remained healthy and pitched outside of Arizona," Forst said. "We're excited about his progress since surgery and look forward to his first experience in major-league camp."
Along with Ynoa and Green, the Athletics’ management also made some changes in the roster. Moving Arnold Leon and outfielder Shane Peterson onto the roster, the Athletics out-righted their consistent performer Andrew Carignan.
Carignan is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery and not available for next few months. He is a good player and had many decent games for the Athletics.
However, regarding Green, who will be making his way into Major League, is a promising factor for the Athletics.
After his draft, he played five Minor League games with the Athletics’ affinities Single-A Stockton. Later in 2010 he was names Athletics’ top prospect and called in Spring Training.
He started his brilliant run in the Minors as Athletics gave him the chance to play in the Arizona Fall League where he performed tremendously and proved his valour.
