Grant Hill might follow Steve Nash to Hollywood – NBA Report
After a trade that landed Steve Nash to the Los Angeles Lakers, the franchise is dreaming about NBA championships once again. And they are right in thinking so, as the addition of Nash to an already stellar cast makes them championship
contenders instantly.
Steve Nash was one of the biggest free agents this offseason and had teams like the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks eyeing him. However, Nash decided to join the Lakers as he wanted to stay close to Phoenix
where his family resides and also thought the Lakers had a better chance of becoming instant title contenders with his addition.
Hence, Nash convinced the Suns management to sign and trade him to the Lakers, even though both teams have remained Western Conference arch rivals for many years and faced each other in the playoffs on numerous occasions. With
Nash in the Lakers line-up, there is one more Suns player who might go Hollywood in the coming days, and that is Suns backup guard Grant Hill.
Ever since Nash was traded to the Lakers, there have been rumours that Grant hill will also be following him to the home of stars.
Frank Isola of the New York Daily recently reported:
“Grant Hill will either join Steve Nash and the Lakers or retire, a source close to the veteran forward told me.”
At 39, Hill is nearing the end of his career but can still contribute to the Lakers team. Last season with the Suns, Hill averaged 10.2 valuable points per game while managing 28 minutes of playing time. The Lakers have the mini
mid-level exception worth $3 million to offer him. But the more important question is whether he will be able to contribute to the Lakers bid for an NBA championship.
The Lakers could use that same money to recruit a backup point guard in order to give Nash the adequate rest. They now need to decide which addition will make them stronger and improve their chances of winning an NBA championship.
Grant Hill might just retire but knowing the Lakers, they will at least consider all the possible moves before making a final decision.
