Grant Hill ruled out of action for the next two weeks with knee injury – NBA News
Los Angeles Clippers forward Grant Hill has been ruled out for the next two weeks with bone bruises in his right knee, meaning that he will miss at least one week of regular season action.
Hill, the veteran who was acquired by the Clippers in the offseason to add depth to the roster, last played for his new team on October 14th in a preseason game against the Miami Heat in China. However, he says that he had got the injury before that game and went ahead with the Miami game anyways.
"I kind of tweaked it before we left for China and I played a couple of games in China. It’s feeling better. It will be a couple more weeks. We'll see,” said Hill.
Hill has not played since the October 14th Heat game. He is likely to miss another two weeks due to the knee injury, but remains convinced that the injury is not a big deal at all and he will be back sooner than expected.
"This is nothing. It happens. A few guys are banged up, but the main thing is we have a lot of depth. Regardless of who's suiting up and ready to go when things start for real, we'll go with who we have and hopefully, I'll be back soon,” said Hill.
The Clippers are reeling from the loss of Lamar Odom and Chauncey Billups already, and Chris Paul has only recently returned from a surgery he underwent in August. Although Paul was not played by Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro in Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he says that Paul is 100 percent healthy, and his absence was only to give him rest as the Clippers are about to close their preseason schedule.
Chauncey Billups has recently started practising with the team and is currently taking part in scrimmages after suffering from season ending injury back in February. He is currently on his recovery schedule and is expected to return to the team sometime in December.
Odom is also suffering from bone bruises in his knee which are a direct result of him being overweight when he arrived for training camp in the offseason. Odom last played on October 14th against the Heat, but is slightly ahead of Hill in his recovery process and there is a chance that he plays for the Clippers in their season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
