Grapevines?

I planted 3 concord grapevines and we had a freeze, the new growth was damaged, will the vines come back. I live in Bella Vista, Ar. 72715

  1. The chances are that the freeze just damaged the new growth and the vines will send out more new growth, after a while.

    I don't know if concord grapes are robust enough that you will have no long-term damage.  I would guess yes.  Most plants have some energy reserve for sending out new growth, late frosts are a pretty common event encountered in plant evolution, so you would expect plants to be able to go on.  The exceptions would be if the concord grapes are out of their ideal range of growing conditions, or if they weren't healthy when first planted, or if they have been so highly bred that they have been turned into "hot-house plants".

    Sometime you will have new growth come along, but because of the delay or because of the depletion of plant nutrients or something, the grape vines, while they survive, never produce much.  I hope that's not the case for you.
