Graphic Guest with high hopes for the Queen Mary Stakes (Fillies) at Ascot
The Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes (Fillies) has brought together some tremendous talent with either the recent race claimed or leading on for hat trick through the race today. The line-up of twenty-seven two-year-old will contest for the £42,533 prize money.
It will be raced over five furlongs at Ascot on Wednesday, 20th June.
One of the most promising entries for the race is Graphic Guest, Dutch Art’s two-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Makara. She has been active twice during her debut season. The lightly raced filly trained by Mick Channon has been successful in two out
of the three races which she undertook.
Her career debut was in the NGK Spark Plugs/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket over five furlongs on 19th April. Successfully clearing the maiden was the 6/5 favourite entry, Tassel.
All Fur Coat settled the closest while staying in the realm of the first three positions, Graphic Guest filled in the third slot behind the winner.
It was at Ascot over five furlongs on 11th May that Graphic Guest won the 2 Million ATR Viewers Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Division II). She was the honorable evening’s favourite and led the track of four by 1 ¼ lengths in partnership with Martin
Harley.
Finishing right behind was Steer By The Stars while catching up with the third position in line was Surely Speightful.
She then moved on to win the London Irish Conditions Stakes on 21st of May at Windsor over five furlongs. With Martin Harley onboard, she dodged the 4/9 favourite of the race, Hairy Rocket, by 1 ¾ lengths.
She did not duck down on the ranking after clearing the maiden and maintaining a firm grasp on her performance today will get rewarded by a hat trick.
Her fourth outing of the season is supported by 9/1 odds and for third time in a row she will be under the wise guidance of jockey, Martin Harley. The stall allotted to her is the twenty first which means that she will start far off outward from the rail.
Martin Harley will for sure have a tactic or two up the sleeve to steer the filly out of the competitive traffic.
