I've recently installed a new video card in my system (Nvidia Ge-Force 7800), it work's fine but today i went to play some older games on my PC and they didn't run they just showed up as a black screen. On the game cases it doesn't list Nvidia 7 series as a compatible card it just has Nvidia 6600 or better, is the card unable to play these older games or is there a way of altering the settings to run the games?

  1. Most likely it is a driver issue, or an issue with the particular game. Technology-wise, the Nvidia 6 and 7 series are almost identical. Aside from some size shrinkage and raw power boosts, they should be technologically identical. If you had an example of a specific game I could help you more, but I would say that there is a way to get the games to work, and it probably is not that complicated. I would be happy to look around a bit if I knew which games were causing you trouble.

  2. Updating the drivers for your graphics card might help with the issue. Get them from http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.asp...
