  1. I think it would be nice if you set each peice up on a stand and have them go in somekind of order

example by the dates you made them or maybe color related..

    do something creative ...

    hope that helps

  2. Depends on who you are presenting them to.

If you are doing a portfolio for a school, you need to follow their specific instructions or the portfolio will be rejected immediately.

Most employers and free-lance customers will find it easier if you have a relatively small, say 11x14 or 12x16 inch, loose leaf binder.  Anything larger will not easily open on the average desk.  Traditionally, art is presented on black matte paper in plastic sleeves. More recently, graphic design portfolios are often requested on CD.

I would be careful with making your presentation too creative unless you are using the form you want to work in.  For example, if you want to work in newspaper design, making your presentation look like a real newspaper would be interesting.  However, the creativity needs to be in your portfolio, not necessarily in your presentation.  If you get too "out of the box," you are taking a chance that the potential employer or customer will think you are too strange or not to be taken seriously.

  3. It's always a good idea to tailor your portfolio to the viewer. If you can provide more information on what type of work you are presenting, and who you are presenting it to, I'd be glad to email you some ideas to help you stand out amongst the competition.
