Question:

Graphics Card Cords What Do i do with them??

Hey! :)

I just bought a new graphics card its a Palit Nvidia GeForce 9600GT

It came with these cords this black bit goes into the graphics card then 2 other ones coming off that im not sure what they are used for i had a little play around in the computer (knowing that i shouldnt) and i found a plug just the right size so i put it in and it fits im playing CoD4 now everything high and it works grate. but theres still one more cord in there that isnt being used is that bad? and also the fan temp, mines always around 40 - 45 but when i get out of a game its 50 - 55 how do i know whats right?

  1. You probably dont need them with your current setup. They are probably for use with a SLI setup (dual video cards).

    If everything is working, nothing to worry about ;)


  2. hey! don't worry! for the 9600GT you have different options of using different power cables from your power supply (PSU). just plug in the ones needed (which you have done already) and it should work. It's okay to have one left over. if it doesnt work, your 9600 will emit a loud high pitched noise meaning it has a lack of power coming to it from your PSU. but you're good! and those temperatures are also good for your graphics card. the reason its higher after you get out a game is because the graphic card is being used so it heats up, give it awhile and it will go back down to normal temps! =)
