Graphics Design or AutoCAD?

I've just recently lost my job and am now unemployed, but I'm going to go through the state workforce program to make a career change. I'm trying to decide between AutoCAD and Graphics Design. Which one is easier and/or more enjoyable? Also, what's the difference, if any, in the annual salary of each? Thank you so much in advance for your help!

  1. AutoCad is the way to go. I am a graphic designer and right now, the design field is flooded with "web designers" who do all their web design with Word or Powerpoint or some free site. Clients who do not know any better will hire the kid next door for $50 to do their website, before they realize he doesn't know what he's doing, doesn't know PHP, Javascript, HTML XTML, etc.

A graphic design degree does not teach programs, it teaches design principles, color space, font usage, etc.

  2. Will you explain what is the software they teach in Graphic Design? Although in my opinion, if you're an engineer, AutoCad is good for you. Since it is used for designing cars, boats, ... .  But if not, i think Graphic Design looks more interesting.
