Is there a way to upgrade your Graphics Card's memory without getting a new graphics card?

  1. No.

    The RAM in a video card has never been user upgradeable, on any card in the history of video cards.

    And even more so on a laptop as the cards themselves arent user upgradeable, unless your packing a high end Sager or other Clevo based rig.

    You might (MIGHT) be able to go into your BIOS and increase the memory allotment that your graphics card gets to pull from, but this will only yeild very very very small increases in preformance on a dedicated GPU.  Though you might get a pretty sizeable increase in preformance from an intergrated graphics card if your able to increase the video ram a significant amount in your BIOS


  2. No, sorry the only way to do it is to buy a new card-its like buying ram for your graphics.

  3. I dont think you can upgrade graphic memory because they are built-in into the graphic card.

  4. no, the memory chips on the graphics cards are there permenantly.  

    you will have to get a card with more memory.

  5. there maybe some update to your memory card ,you can got to manufacture site of your g card and update it...if you are not sure where to look up,first get your graphic name and brand then go to site and update it,,this is small software it will tell you the brand of your g card :
