Graphing time and distancee?

I've made a graph and I've put time on the bottom and distance on the left hand side....but I thought time was a dependent variable, and distance was independent, so doesn't the independent variable go on the bottom of the graph?

  1. It depends but usually time is an independent variable and distance is a dependent variable. For instance, if you're walking down the street, the distance you've walked depends on how long you've been walking so the distance is the dependent variable. The time is the independent variable.

    Anyways, I think your graph is correct with time on the bottom(x-axis) and  distance on the left(y-axis).


  2. it really depends on what u are measuring... if you are measuring time its dependent if you are measuring distance it is dependent  the independent variable goes on the bottom
