Grashoppers?

Question

I have a veggie patch, and I just recently bought a whole heap of new seedlings, no sooner did I plant them, the next day I find a damned grasshopper has taken hunks out of my bok choy. because they are new seedlings, I can't buy poison, any ideas/tips??

put chicken wire fence around it and then shouldnt be able to get inside, if you have to, place some on top that is removeable!
