Question:

Grass and weed killer, concentrate. What works for you?

I used to get Spectracide Triple Strike, grass weed and roots concentrate, and use 4oz. to a gallon, would kill it off. Now the same product says 10oz. to a gallon, we tried that but the grass begins greening up after a week or so, even with drought like conditions. What concentrate works best for you?

Thanks in advance, for your help.

  1. ROUND-UP, which is now available as generic. The Main ingredient is glycophosphate. It works great for me. The greater the concentration, and the higher the temperature, the better. You can use less, and it will still kill, only more slowly. I have even rinsed out the sprayer and refilled with plain water, and it still killed! I keep one sprayer only for Round-up!.

  2. Round up super concentrate.  They are all the same though, the active ingredient is glyphosate.  You just control how strong the conentration is by the ratio of water to concentrate that you use.

  3. brush-be-gon by Ortho

  4. I use RoundUp for the pesky areas.  It contains glyphosate, which is also the active ingredient in other weed killers for a lot less.

But overall I use organic methods, like solarization and salts and vinegar.  I also do a LOT of manual weed-pulling!
