  1. Because it lays so pleasantly underfoot.

  2. Each life is destined for something.  Why are hens, cattle and pigs killed and consumed? Their life is destined to serve as food for humans.  similarly trees, they give us air to breath and wood to build houses.  As a human being, we too are destined for something, at least to do good to one other human being, to help the needy and to look after our parents and family and make everyone happy.  If we are not destined for anything, there would be no difference between a dog's life and a human life, just take birth, eat to live and die.. no difference.

similarly, grass is grown for beauty and also it grows naturally to serve as food for animals and shelter for small worms and other organisms.

  3. You don't walk over it, just smoke it.

  4. because it cant tell us to get off. ;D

  5. If we couldn't walk on the grass, that would mean that more roads and sidewalks would have to be built.  That would be devastating for our environment because it would destroy ecosystems and produce pollutants.  Plus, grass feels excellent on bare feet in the summer.  Long live grass stains.

  6. i am a vegetarian, i dont hurt animals and plants, oh ya, i dont walk on d grass, but grass walks over me

    lol

  7. aha.. then stop walking over it.. simple!!!

  8. though we are rational still irrational to behave so. People are inhumane to be sympathetic and humane. I don know wen would these people gonna get the fluctuation. These should stop doin so and save the country.

  9. if we start concerning about each and every living organism and their pain we cannot actually survive dear.

and don't worry at some places they keep a sign board " keep off the grass "...at least some nice people exist in their world lol.

  10. sure, lets kill all the grass by building bridges over it.

seriously, we don't have a choice but to walk on it, think of it this way, you may believe it has a spirit, but you surely don't believe it has nerve endings, it can't feel physical paint, maybe emotional. As a mater of fact, i bet grass is here to provide us with something, wouldn't we insult the grass if the didn't graciously accept it's services to us.

not a "tree hugger" and don't realy believe in this stuff, but there's nothing wrong with people who do.

  11. because grass can handle that and still survive.

  12. So are our feet and we walk on them too! Or ... if you consider the laws of physics that every action has an equal and opposite reaction... maybe the grass is pushing on us too! HAHA

  13. i think all creatures in the earth is for the help for others. like wise grass is also a living organism for the good of others. so don't mind for walking on grass. i am sure it would not mind. i also believe that we humans should also take lessons from these creatures of helping others may be we are forgetting it.

  14. To hear it scream OUCH!

  15. Because we dominate!

  16. because it is there... like mountains and everything else we walk on... At least you succeeded in getting people to think, lol...

  17. Yes grass is a living thing we walk on it because its beneath use just like animals we eat.

  18. Why not?

  19. Now you're getting carried away.

Whether there is grass or seemingly nothing...seemingly is not without organisms.  There are organisms we can't even see with the human eye virtually everywhere.

Avoid them only by not existing yourself.

  20. It can't feel pain. No one has given you a star yet, so i will = )

  21. we are living organisms; then why do bacteria and parasites walk all over us?

  22. ahhhhh im sure we aquish all sorts of organisms but grass seems 2 be the s**t.......everyone has a walk on it =]

  23. Where else are we suppose to walk?

  24. because grass has evolved as such so that it can survive all our foot's weight. It can't feel...so there's no pain for it.

  25. What do you eat? Vegetables? Are not they living organisms or parts torn apart from them? Then why do you worry about grass? What do you propose - instead of trodding on a few of grass, we should kill all of them by mowing them to provide grass-less pathway for walking? What about the small micro-organisms or insects that you kill by inhaling or trodding every moment? Why whine about grass only????

  26. good point... now you lay on the ground, and we will walk all over you, since you are so sympathetic. Grass does not have the nervous system we do... they cant feel pain or pleasure.

we walk on it because it's on the ground. Just like I walk on the rocks and twigs that are on the ground. You dont have to walk on the grass, some people even put signs out that say 'Dont walk on grass.' maybe they are as you.

My feet are alive, does that mean I shouldnt walk on them?

  27. There are many, many unseen living things which we hurt/kill every day like microbes in and around us, even the useful ones - probiotics. Moreover, poor grass won't protest/object, we can get away with it , you see! There is no society for prevention of cruelty to grass ( SPCG ), mind starting one?!

  28. LOL. . . I feel this way too about things. . . I actually apologize to my trees and flowers while I'm pruning and cutting :)  Then I also think about all the insects we kill by walking and driving over them. . . micro organisms in our bodies that we kill with antibiotics. . . germs we kill by disinfecting. . .etc.

Kind of makes me feel really bad, but there is no real way around it if we want to live :)

  29. Yea I know plus every two weeks I get out my diesel guzzling lawn mower and  slash and cut and drive over and spin around until it begs submission.
