Grass is turning brown n some strange weeds r growing all of a sudden. Is tehre any way to make it green?

I live in chicago.The grass in my backyard was normal but for the last 2-3 weeks, there is sum sudden growth of weeds(wch look like tall grass) n the grass overall has turned brown n less dense. Is there anyway to make it green n dense quickly? what do u think is the problem! Is the grass losing the quality because of the weeds? I am not really worried abt the weeds because I can mow them with the lawn n they r not so prominent. would only remove them if they r causing the degradation in the lawn's quality. Thanks!

Spread some weed and feed,and water!

Watering your lawn might make it greener...

And just getting rid of the weeds might do the trick...
