Grass tumbling but dirt to hard help?

i like to tumble on the grass in my backyard but the dirt underneath is really hard is there anyway i can soften it.

Water it on a regular basis.  When dirt gets dry, it gets hard.  When it's moist, then it's softer.

ok. you dont like have a blanket for you to tumble on?  Do the bugs not go on you when your in the grass?

I like to tumble with a soft pinic cloth so for comfert and saftey from bugs
