  1. lime rind is actually the peel.  you can grate the outside of the lime using a cheese grater.  I recommend using the smallest holes of a grater.

  2. you got the idea,,, that it is simply the shaving the skin off the lime (lemon -- -- orange -- -- grapefruit)

but I'll give you a hint

To buy a single citrus fruit  is $$$$$

why not approach  the juice industry to zest their fruit

into the small packets like catsup and mustard..

    don't forget

  3. You take a grater and grate the lime. Your cheese grater may have a side that allows you to grate finer things. If not, you can buy a grater at any store that sells kitchenwares. Grating lime peel is really easy. You would probably need 2-3 limes to get that 1-1/2 tsp.

  4. It's the zest of the lime, the outer green part  of the peel --- dont use the white underneath, it's bitter.

Use a microplane for best results, other wise a grater will do.  Gently rub the lime and keep moving it around, all the outer green peel is the zest that you need.

  5. you buy a lime, and use a grater.  Just be sure that you don't get any of the white bitter stuff.

  6. if you don't have a grater you can slice off only the green part of the peel and chop it and chop it and chop it and keep chopping it until it is very very fine.

  7. You can grate the rind while it is still on the lime, but make sure you wash the lime first to get rid of any pesticide residue.
