Ok my great grandparents and grandparents are all buried in the same plot. my mum always wanted to be buried in there, but when my grandfather died he left everything to my mums younger sister. everytime we put something on the grave she takes it off and she wont let my mum be buried in there

now, I just rang the cemetry people and they told me she isnt LEGALLY entitled to own the grave deeds, my grandfather that left her everything was MARRIED into the family.

so the next of kin should own it, now in there is my great grandparents and my nan (and her husband) so who is the next of kin, my nans oldest child? or my great grandparents oldest child?

  1. I think you need a lawyer to sort this one out.

Good luck and be patient.  It could take a while.

  2. Your mother being the eldest child is the one who is entitled, before the younger of the sisters. Your Aunt maybe entitled to what your grandfather left( did your mother contest the will?), but she is not entitled to say where your Mum can be buried.Your mother needs to see a solicitor, and get him to write to your aunt to put her straight on the matter.

  3. It sometimes is a pity we cannot choose our relatives!  Good luck with your problem...your aunt sounds rather petty.
