  1. Well, when your earthly rep' used to head up the Hitler Youth............

  2. Well, it's not like the corpses are going to NOTICE they've been moved...

  3. They want to make the guy a saint, and you are still complaining?

The move is part of the process for making him a saint.  I would thik that you would consider that a good thing?

    Maybe I am mistaken there

  4. if you spend half as much time learning to love as you do practicing hate.you might be likeable.

  5. it seems not and that is very sad.

  6. I think that is such a sad indictment of the catholic church.

To put the church above the wishes of an individual. But hey, isn't that what churches are for? Anything justifies the end. Which is world domination.

Edit: You have to laugh. One bloke here just talked about his 'beautification'. So sad. Or maybe so totally ironic.

  7. You do know that you are getting this information from a g*y site, right?

Don't you think they will be a little bit biased?

I'm not Catholic by the way.

  8. What's really sad is that so many of you are totally ignorant of any kind of "love" except Eros.

Were you all raised under rocks? By adults who didn't give a rat's fat patootie about you? Have you never had a true friend of the same gender?

How very limited then, are  your lives. *sigh*

  9. That is horrid. I would think his last wish could be respected. I do believe that they are together now and it doesn't matter where their bodies are. Man can be so narrow and bitter. How very sad.

  10. All I can say is, "Here's a  stone for anyone who can throw the first one without one landing on them."  I'm sure many churches, and other religious organizations have similar stories if not worst, so let's cut out the stone throwing.  I try to stay focused on what God's telling me and others, so I don't have to get into judging others. I'm quite busy repenting for my own sins, thank you.

  11. They may be wrong to move the body but Tatchell is going OTT in his criticism.

0nly physical remains are there so no-one will be 'disturbed'

This is the normal act prior to beatification

As to the validity of beatification and sainthood that is another question

But it is doubtful if there is anything remotely homophobic about the task

  12. Catholicism is corrupt. It's sad that there really are good catholics out there that have to be tied down to all the bad ones.

  13. It doesn't make sense that they would take actions that would draw attention if they were trying to cover something up. I think you are reading too much into this.

  14. >>why are the vatican doing this???<<

"The exhumation and moving of his remains is a lead-up to an expected beatification of the cardinal, thought to be possible in the spring or summer of 2009.

    http://www.zenit.org/rssenglish-23471

"One of the more fundamental requirements of the beatification process is the exhumation of the body of the candidate for sainthood so that it can be properly identified and protected."

Did you complain when the body of John XXIII was exhumed?

Did you complain when the body of Margaret Sinclair was exhumed?

If not, who is the real hypocrite here?

  15. Both men are dead so they are not going to know what is happening so what does it matter? As to the hypocrisy part the catholic church is full of hypocrisy so a bit more wont make a lot of difference and at least it is just dead people involved and not young boys

  16. "Why are the Vatican doing this"

Well, the Vatican are doing this as a process of his beautification, just like the Church claimed.

Why do so many people put so much stock in a g*y and L*****n publication and accept it as fact?

O.K., let me re-Phrase, Why would so many people but so much stock in a report by an orginazation that already hates the Catholic Church?  That sounds better doesn't it!  I am sure that the g*y and L*****n publication do a fine job reporting on issues they are neutral on.

    That is the better question....

    Peace and God Bless!

  17. they know it too but they dont want their church destroyed and you arent their judge!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Omg......So true, the vatican is the epitome of sin. They will go to any lengths to hold on to power.....look at the crusades.

  19. I'm Catholic and I think "Big deal"....

    1) has our culture become SO sexualized that every deep connection between two people must be seen as physical?  Do you have a sexual relationship with everyone you consider a confidant in your life?

    2) it's Church practice to remove the remains of candidates for Sainthood for inspection to see if they have been rendered incorrupt by a miracle of God, and to make relics of the Saint available for public veneration.  Just because they've exhumed Newman doesn't mean it's been done because of who he was or wasn't buried near.

    3) So what if Newman had homosexual leanings??  The Church doesn't say that's sinful.  It's ummarried s*x between any type of people that is sinful.  Even your article says he was a lifelong celibate.  If he was g*y and celibate, I'd say that's a wonderful testimony to the power of the Holy Spirit in his life.

    4) If Newman is in Heaven, I'm sure he doesn't care anymore where his body is laying.
