Gray rats? do they have sickness more then other colored rats?

Ok well i was supposed to get a gray rat today! my mom went to the pet store and found one! my aunt called and said that Gray rats are more pone to getting desies and carrying them... is that true? do Gray rats are they more liable to carry desise? plz tell me so i can get a rat TODAY!

The color of the rat does not have any bearing on their predisposition to disease. The only thing that could influence their health is if the rats have been bred and inbred to bring out specific characteristics. Just as happens with some dog breeds, that kind of inbreeding can lead to congenital heal problems. With your rat, however, I don't think there is a great chance of that. Just enjoy him and don't worry.
