Gray strick down my german sheperds back?

what could this be she just turned a year old today. but she has this wide gray strick of hair down her back? is it a mean strick?lol shes a black and tan

This is a very common female GSD marking. Most female (or neutered male) German Shepherd Dogs will acquire one as they mature. It's known as a bi*ch stripe. Normally, it will cover the shoulders and base of the neck as well.

In this picture you will notice the lighter coloring extending down the length of the dog's back and around the base of the neck. That is a bi*ch stripe.

Hu?  What is a strick?  Like a stripe?  Or you mean streak?  Did it just show up overnight?  The black fades as they get older and may look greyish.

My dog has that on his nose and he's only 2, she is probably very stressed out for some reason.
