I powerwashed the driveway with degreaser and that removed the surface stuff. How do i get rid of the stains? Would muriatic acid work? Can I use a primer and just paint over the driveway?

  1. Try kitty litter.  If the stains are not too old it may help to lift it from the concrete

  2. try some sugar soap, mix it with water and run it over the stains, leave em for a bit approx 15min and wash em down sud clean the marks, if thy ar not very old ones. if this is the case, thn use powerfull oven cleaner product spray or spread it our the marks and leave it for an hour thn jetwash em.

  3. Soak stains with gasoline (petrol,)  buy lime powder, mix to a stiff paste with water, and apply to the stain after one hour,   It works because it has a tremendous absorbency, and will absorb grease dissolved in gas.

Leave for a few days, remove, and rinse the area.

Acids will NOT work on this type of stain.

Lime is usually available in  small paper sacks in builder's yards, sometimes DIY stores

  4. A combination of previous answers is correct. Unfortunately concrete is an absorbing material so entirely removing older stains may prove difficult. But you will draw some of surface oil off by using kitty litter and covering it for a couple of days. But to draw out the stain you will need to repeat the process with the dry concrete powder.

  5. Unfortunately once concrete is stained it's stained.I have used a good quality hand cleaner and brush to get allot out but it will always be there.

I have sprinkled a little cement powder on afterwards and it did help a little.

  6. Hi Chip. Please don't put Gasoline or your driveway simply because this is to dangerous, and there are better ways. May I suggest that you wet the spot and use some laundry powder or liquid. Then use a stiff bristled broom and scrub the spot. Add a little water if you need to. Scrub it in and let it set for a while and scrub it some more. Rinse it with as much water pressure as possible. Do it again if necessary and avoid getting more oil on it. If you do this, eventually it will fade. Good Luck.
