Do they allow us to just leave our clothings & towels in the backpack outside (next to the chairs) instead of paying hefty fee for the locker? Thanks!

You take a chance of them getting stolen and they are NOT to be held liable for your stuff. they make that VERY clear. So chip up and get a locker, maybe if someone stays out and is the key person, responsible for all the stuff, but ......just get one locker between ya.
