  1. I don't remember the names of all off the top of my head, but I usually pay about four euros for a fair middle priced Ribera del Duero in my local supermarket...

Valpincia is a fair priced Ribera del Duero (from 3,95€ up depending on the year)

Condado de Haza (from about 6€ up also depending on the year).

Prado Rey roble (from 6€ up)

    Vega Izan (from 4€ up)...

Protos (one of my favourites) (from 8€ up)

The top of the top is evidently Vega Sicilia...but you don't want to know the price!

And there is one even more expensive...if not better... The Pingus winery has a bottle (Pingus  Tinto Barrica 2001) that goes for nearly 500€!

There are several more, If I think of them, I'll come back and edit..I'll check them out in my suprmarket tomorrow.

    :-)

  2. I live in Spain and Spaniards will not pay €6 for a bottle of wine where I live. The only group of people spending that sort of money are tourists. I get a good Rioja for no more than €2 and often cheaper than that.

The wine in Spain is of an excellent quality. I prefer red wine. Ribera del Duero I believe is from the Province of Burgos in Northern Spain. I´m not sure of any bodegas there but´like everywhere in Spain, the place is rich in winemaking.
