I'm a 30 y.o. woman and I really enjoyed Clan of the Cave Bear series, Hitchhiker's Guide, The Red Tent, Da Vinci Code and anything by Barbara Kingsolver or Dean Koontz. Any other suggestions? Thanks! : )

  1. Angels and Demons - It's the prequel to the DaVinci Code

  2. Im 23:

Shes Come Undone - Wally Lamb

    ALL Jodi Picoult books!

  3. Stop immediately reading that kind of "literature", and grab some Nietzsche, Freud, Poe, Lovecraft, Breton, Kafka, Wilde, Blake. Best of luck.

  4. Here's a pile of great stuff for you to check out.

    The Greenlanders ~ Jane Smiley

All her stuff is fantastic, actually, I just suggested this one because you mentioned The Clan of the Cave Bear.

The Secret History ~ Donna Tartt

Gentleman and Players ~ Joanne Harris.

The Bone People ~ Keri Hulme

The Time Traveler's Wife ~ Audrey Niffenegger

The Once and Future King ~ T. H. White

Neverwhere (or anything else by) ~ Neil Gaiman

    Expiration Date ~ Tim Powers

The Princess Bride ~ William Goldman

In Country ~ Bobbie Ann Mason

    Empire Falls ~ Richard Russo

Jitterbug Perfume (or anything else by) ~ Tom Robbins

The Fountain Overflows ~ Rebecca West

A Map of the World ~ Jane Hamilton

Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant ~ Anne Tyler

    Lonesome Dove ~ Larry McMurtry

    Freedomland ~ Richard Price

A Bonfire of the Vanities ~ Tom Wolfe

Going After Cacciato ~ Tim O'Brien

    Bel Canto ~ Ann Patchett

    Cold Mountain ~ Charles Frazier

The Deptford Trilogy ~ Robertson Davies

The House of Sand and Fog ~ Andre Dubus III

Less Than Zero ~ Bret Easton Ellis

Well, wow, I guess the only thing these books really have in common is that I love them all, and somehow, something in your question made me think of each of them. They'll all be easy to find reviews and info on. Enjoy your search!

  5. Watership Down by Richard Adams, if you haven't already partaken.
