Great Britain’s Alex Taylor, Bryan Mobbs lead on Day 2 of Magic Marine RS500 World Championships
Despite strong weather conditions on Weymouth Bay waters, Great Britain’s Alex Taylor and Bryan Mobbs have held on to their overall lead with a superb sail on the second day of 2011 Magic Marine RS500 World Championships. The Britons clinched both races
of the day to stay on top of the leaderboard with three points after one race discard.
The wind conditions were not favourable to race but the British pair displayed brilliant sailing skills to come out on top. The Brits reached the finish line under shifty winds after a tough resistance from compatriots Mike Saul and Meg Fletcher in Race
1 and Tim Wilkins along with Heather Martin in Race 2.
Netherlands’ Barend Hiltermann and Max Blom showed great form on Day 1, scoring a first and a second place in two races. But they displayed an unconvincing performance in the first race, finishing 13th. However, the pair occupied second place
overall with eight points despite the points in the first race of Day 2.
