He scored 7000+ runs in test matches and took 157 catches, mostly in first slip. He is one of the few cricketers to have scored a triple century in test cricket. Who is he?

  1. Mark Taylor was one of the most popular captains of Australia and under his leadership (1994-1999), Australia grew to become a top cricketing nation. He played for Australia from 1988-1999. He scored 7525 runs in 104 tests with 19 centuries and 40 half-tons. He is one of the few triple centurions in test cricket scoring an unbeaten 334. Even though he had a chance to make a world record, he declared the innings closed. An interesting fact is that he was the first cricketer to score 1000 runs in a season in his debut year. He captained Australia in 50 tests winning 26 and losing 13. Post-retirement, he has worked as a commentator with Channel Nine.
