  1. Danes are later maturing than smaller dogs, and he may still be getting the hang of marking things.   Eventually he will pee like other adult males, but as a teenager he's still developing and growing.  Males lift their legs when they wish to mark something, but when they just plain have to go and go NOW, they simply stand in a stretch position and unload.  I watched a huge 200lb English mastiff get out of his van after a several hour drive to the dog show.  He didn't bother looking for something to mark - he was desperate!  He just landed on the grass in a stretched position and it was Niagra Falls for almost a minute.  And this dog was as huge and macho as they come.  I think your Dane will get better at it with practice.

  2. No! Unless you direct his aim higher manually.

He just doesn't have the oomph at the moment when piddling I guess.

  3. There is nothing you can do but clean his foot. He just has bad aim.

  4. He's still a pup and his aim is not too great.  He will get better aim as he gets older.

  5. That's an interesting elimination problem.

There really isn't anything you can do other than hope he figures out how to not pee on his foot.

  6. our beagle does this.  I have found that it's because he is peeing where it runs downhill onto his foot.  Have you tried different locations?  Also, if he is a male "squatter" that can happen, but as far as I know there isn't anything to do about that.
