I was thinking of some of the greatest Habs of all time, and just curious as to how you would rank the following against each other:

Rocket Richard

Jean Beliveau

Guy Lafleur

Patrick Roy

Yes, I know, different players from different eras, yada yada yada.

You have them in the order I'd put them in if we're talking about those four players only. You could make a rather long list of Hab greats.

Its so tough from different ERA's   we tend to forget the older and they dont seem as good but if you compare to others in their ERA they were great.

What about Ken Dryden, Jacques Plante, Larry Robinson

I persobnally think The Rocket was so much better than the rest of the players back then (ffrom what I read)   He was the first to do a lot of things  (50 goals in 50 games)

I remember Roy the best, but can best relate to Lafleur, of the bunch Beliveau has long been regarded as the classiest and the Rocket did wonders to help Quebecois players be accepted league-wide.

Paul that's because (1) Maurice played fair and square, not racking up assists while in the sinbin, and (2) An anglophone tyrant named Campbell sucked up to the owners of the other teams thus instigating the Richard Riot in 1955.
