Great Heavens hopes to win Darley Irish Oaks (Group 1) (Fillies)
The John Gosden trained bay filly, Great Heavens, looks to be in great form following her last three consecutive triumphs, and she will deliver another winning performance in the Darley Irish Oaks (Group 1) (Fillies) that is going to take place at Curragh racecourse on Sunday, July 22.
The high-stakes Irish event is scheduled to start at 3:20 (GMT). On the heavy track of 1 mile and 4 furlongs, the three-year-old novice runner will compete against half a dozen rivals. On winning, she will get €232,000.
Great Heavens has stunned both the horseracing lovers and the punters alike by winning three magnificent races in a row. Debuting on September 24, 2011 with the 5th position in the 15-runner race of the EBF MH Construction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, the fantastic filly marvellously broke her maiden in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Yarmouth on May 10, 2012.
The brilliant daughter of Galileo out of Magnificent Style moved ahead to grab another grand victory in the Lord Weinstock Memorial Stakes (Registered As The Ballymacoll Stud Stakes) (Listed Race) (Fillies), the Class 1 contest that was held at Newbury on June 14.
The Lady Rothschild owned young and momentous sprinter completed her hat-trick by winning the Bet365 Lancashire Oaks (Group 2) (Fillies & Mares) at Haydock racecourse on July 7.
Much to her advantage, she ran each of her last three races with the favourite tag. Today again, she is 7-4 best-priced candidate with the Paddy Power.
Thus, it seems quite obvious that Great Heavens will be able to thrive emphatically in the coming contest. However, she will have to be wary of Princess Highway whose career stats are almost tantamount to those of Great Heavens.
The D. K. Weld trained bay filly elegantly won each of her last three starts. She manifested incredible talent by finishing first in the Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) over 1 mile and 4 furlongs during the gorgeous Royal Ascot event of the last month.
But like Great Heavens, the daughter of Street Cry out of Irresistible Jewel has no exposure over any heavy playfield. Despite this, a neck-to-neck clash is expected between the two fillies. Let us see who turns to be the champion.
