Great Heavens lands a glorious victory in the Lord Weinstock Memorial Stakes
The young, Great Heavens, brought her best performance to the track, when she claimed a victory in the Lord Weinstock Memorial Stakes (Registered As The Ballymacoll Stud Stakes) at Newbury, on 14th June, 2012.
The bay filly covered the 1 mile and 2 furlong track in an exceptional manner, and came out on top.

Completely unthreatened by the remaining runners, rider William Buick worked his magic on her, and led her to a 2 ¼ lengths victory over the Rae Guest trained, Miss Cato.
The third place was secured by Sir Mark Prescott Bt’s charge, Albamara, who finished 2 ½ lengths after Miss Cato, while Apothecary, Devine Guest and Villa Royale, finished in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Delighted with the three-year-old’s victory, trainer John Gosden stated:
"She's a sweet filly who showed some promise last year."
He further added:
"I've spaced her races out and this was an attractive race to run her in. I would like to move her up to a Group Three as she doesn't have many miles on the clock.”
The surface of the track was labelled good to soft, but the trainer believes that the runner can perform well on a good track as well. However, if the ground is faster than that, then he will have to think again.
Since the Lady Rothschild owned runner’s performance is improving with every race, Gosden is thinking of running her in the Group 2 Bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock on 7th July, 2012, where she will race over 1 mile, 3 furlongs
and 200 yards.
Based on her pedigree, John Gosden is confident that Great Heavens can easily tackle larger distances without any trouble.
This was the second consecutive victory for the daughter of Galileo, out of mare Magnificient Style, since she previously triumphed in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Yarmouth in May, 2012.

She raced as the evening’s favourite in the hands of rider Robert Havlin, and finished 3 lengths before the Sir Michael Stoute trained, Monshak.
