Great all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic?

Question

My fiance and I are going to D.R. sometime near October and we need to figure out where to stay. I want all-inclusive, on water, good food, and activities to keep us busy. We are in our late 20's, outgoing and athletic but the sound of lazy days at the beach and pool bar is also enticing... so anything goes. Please help me.

I just recently came back from the DR and I went to Sunscape, Punta Cana. It was a great deal for the money (one of the best priced all inclusive resorts I found) and they had tons of activities (although we had to pay extra for them).

Honestly, I would say that you should sit down and say what's most important to you- saving money, rating, or included activities (or other) and then search based on that. Sunscape was the best for me because it was cheap and the beach was beautiful but no activities were included and I'm not sure what it's rated (it may only be three stars). Do keep in mind that most resorts have beach access right at the resort and the Dominican's beaches are beautiful-period- so you don't really have to worry about that!

Like Happy Feet I think the best are Melia or Iberostar and some of the Riu's. For activities out of the resorts go to Puerto Plata, Punta Cana is a bit boring outside.

The Melia Caribe, in punta cana is a huge, awesome all-inclusive resort that i really liked, (in my 20's also). Tons of things to do, plus there is a little train thing that takes you all around the resort so you don't even have to walk if you don't want to! google it and look for yourself.  I give it 4 stars, My family and I have been there 3 times.

Al 3 are just great (4 to 5*) all depending your lifestyle.
