  1. 16 months old?

    firstly congratulations.

ok...at this age I'd suggest simple foods. sandwiches (PB&J and Nutella are always winners). Dippity Dippity eggs are popular.

you boil an egg, though still have the yolk runny. cut up buttered toast like soldiers and have the kid dip the pieces into the egg. my sister and I used to lvoe this.

Toad in the Hole is good too.

  2. Here's a couple of  faves of my boys...

    Turkey Lasagna

    1/2 ground turkey

    small can crushed tomatoes

any type of noodles your little one likes 1 1/2 cups cooked

    low fat cottage cheese

    fresh parsley to taste

    fresh basil to taste

Brown turkey, Boil noodles, drain turkey, heat tomatoes throughly, cool for 10 min, add cooked turkey, noodles and cottage cheese.

    Yummy

Another thing my boys liked was Turkey Meatballs,

    1/2 lb turkey

    fresh parm

    bread crumbs

    fresh parsley

    fresh basil

Combine all into balls, freeze in batches of 4 in zippy bags, defrost and cook in boiling chicken broth on the stove in sauce pan until cooked throughly turning over to ensure browning on all sides.

  3. your son is 16 months old.  so wouldn't he be eating baby food and and starting hard food with goodies biscuits and stuff.  but when he is older you can make healthy pizzas so you know what is going on the pizza, pasta dishes.  krafts cheesy pasta he will like and it is not frozen food so it hasnt got any bad things in it and you can add little bits of cooked bacon or some tuna flakes.  yeah he wouldnt be eating baby foo would he sorry.  i dunno about quick dishes though sorry

Tuna potato cakes (mashed potato, peas, tuna, grated carrot rolled in oats/breadcrumbs)

    Cottage pie

  5. MONSTER TOAST

    for the kids

    Bread

2 - 3 TB Milk in a couple of small containers

    Food Coloring

    Paint Brush

    Toaster

Mix food coloring (a couple of drops depending on color preference) and milk.

Let kids paint the bread. Make sure it does not get too much paint or it will be soggy toast. (for some reason my toaster doesn't like too much milk..makes funny noises at me if Isabel's really soaked a piece..)

    Toast and enjoy.

    ~~~~ this book I'm linking you to is EXCELLENT I used it with both my daughters
