  1. thats easy, robinson and hagler !!!

  2. Sugar Ray is the obvious choice, probably outclassing Greb to an easy points decision.

Hagler v. Monzon is one everyone is going to say is too close to call because they're generally regarded as 2 of the top 3 middleweights of all-time, but Hagler would maul him.  Monzon was a slower, head on fighter - Hagler couldn't ask for a better opponent.  Hagler by mid fight stoppage, TKO around 6.

  3. Ray Robinson outpunches Greb for a unanimous dec.

Hagler wins by close dec. over Monzon

  4. as there is no known footage of Harry Grebb fighting(that I know of anyway)Id have to pick Robinsin to win on points and second no way on Gods earth would Hagler defeat Carlos Monzon,I notice the ones shouting for Hagler are our  ethnic brothers,I don't care what Mercante says or the politically correct Yahoo groupies here,I go by what videos I have of both fighters and say Monzon would have knocked Hagler clean out with a long range cross like Hagler had never felt the force of before, probably as the fight was midway or round 10Hagler.dominating Monzon, LOL!your a card Big E,what ya been on!Little Duran gave Hagler a terrible time and so did Antuofermo, not to mention Willie'the worm Munroe' Monzon was a class in his own right, the greatest Middle ever to lace up boxing gloves!

  5. IN MY ESTIMATION, NO WELTER OR MIDDLE WT CAN BEAT THE REAL SUGAR RAY AT HIS BEST - WALKER SMITH BEATS GREB IN A CLOSE BUT DECISIVE 15 RD VICTORY

    Monzon - W 87 (KO's 57) TF 100 - W pct 87% - KO pct 57% - wins over Benevenuti{2}, Griffin[2], Napoles, Valdez{2} and Briscoe - KO'ed by none - #40 ranked puncher - #11 ranked fighter

    Hagler - W 62 (KO's 51) TF 67 - W pct 93% - KO pct 76% - wins over A. Minter, Hearns, Mugabi, Duran, Hamso{2} and Briscoe - KO'ed by none - #35 ranked puncher - #17 ranked fighter

Both fighters were never KO'ed. Both fighters held the title for 7 yrs.  Hagler also went 14 yrs without being KO'ed. Hagler must not give Monzon too much respect like he did with Duran.

It could be like a close election or the path of a storm (too close to call). If Hagler presses the fight, he can eke out a split decision over Monzon.

  6. Robinson Vs Greb -This would be a great fight but you would have to say that Robinson would just about outclass Greb, Robinson just has too much in his locker for Harry, both fighters were open to the occasional bad fight but to be honest that would be Grebs best chance, hope to catch Sugar Ray on a bad night, 90% of the time i see Robinson taking this one on points.

Hagler Vs Monzon - This would be another cracker and as most have said would be a really close one to call, two fighters that were never stopped and rarely looked like getting stopped so i would say that it would have to be a points decision either way, i would just side with Hagler as i think he may well be more aggressive and this might just get him ahead on the scorecards.

Two truly great match ups for the semis, ive got a feeling i might be the odd one out when the final comes round though.

  7. Good tournament!  I would go with:

1 - Sugar Ray Robinson.  But only if he didn't get drug into a foul-filled streetfight with Greb.  Greb was a master of dirty tactics and would wear opponents down more with his headbutting and low blows than with his punches.  But he also had a habit of hard drinking.  If Robinson is on his game, he outpunches Greb en route to a close but unanimous decision.

2 - I also see the same scenario for Hagler-Monzon.  Both were tough fighters with excellent chins.  But I see the difference in the preparation.  Hagler was always in phenominal shape while Monzon was a heavy smoker/drinker/womanizer.  Hagler keeps the pressure on him and his sturdy chin allows him to take Monzon's best in winning a decision.

  8. Sugar Ray Robinson and Marvin Hagler are going to the final.

  9. Robinson had some problems with the mauling, anything it takes to win fighters. Boxers like Fullmer, LaMotta, and Basilio, who each beat Robinson. However he did beat all of these men in rematches. This was the way Greb fought. I also think Robinson was a better at welterweight than middleweight. So if it is the first meeting of the two I'll go with Greb in a war, with some "dirty tactics" by Greb, by a split decision.  (that was a tough call)  However Sugar Ray would beat him in a rematch as he did the other boxers I mentioned. He was one of the best "students" of the game and learned from every fight. But 19 loses does show that Robinson could be beat. Not an easy task by no means, but possible.

Monzon and Hagler would be one of the greatest fights of all time. those two set the standard for middleweights. I have seen both of these men fight some of the best of there time and whooped them all. Nino Benvenuti, Emile Griffith, Jose Napoles, for Monzon. Vito Antuofermo, Tommy Hearns, and John Mugabi for Hagler. Throw in Roberto Duran, Tom Bogs, Sugar Ray Leonard, and many more and you get the picture. But on this fight I will go with Monzon in an epic battle. Again in a split decision. I'll give props to Hagler, but he lost to Leonard after Leonard was out for a while and had no warm up bout. And a just out of retirement Duran took him all 15 rounds before losing a close decision. While Monzon won his last 81 fights. Monzon was just flat out awsome and the best ever middleweight in my book. Hagler a very, very close second.

  10. robinson outpoints greb by split decision

monzon and hagler.....almost too close to call, but i pick monzon by the narrowest of margins.

  11. Sugar Ray and Hagler both win.

    SRR by UD

    Hagler by KO

  12. Sugar Ray Robinson is arguably the best boxer ever so I would say he would be Harry Greb by 13th round ko.

Marvin Hagler only lost one fight when he was the best fighter in the game & that was to Sugar Ray Leonard.   He dominated the middleweight division & knocked out Thomas Hearns & beat Roberto Duran & Ko'd John the Beat Mugabi.   I think he would have dominated Monzon & won by 6th round ko.

  13. Sugar Ray over Greb in a tough fight Ray wins by KO. Now this is a fight Monzon was just a hard sob and so was Hagher I will pick Hagler because he had a lot more skills this would be worth the money to see I think Monzon would bring out the best in Hagler I know we saw the Duran fight and I believe that fight we saw the great Hagler start to slip not taking any thing away from Duran and we all know what happen in the Sugar Ray Leonard fight Ray would not have fought Hagler if it were not for the Duran fight because Ray saw that Hagler was not the same and Duran gave Ray the blue print to beat and ageing Hagler by the smallest of margin.
