Question:

Great places to eat in London?

I am going to London for two days in the next month. I am looking for non-expensive restaurant / cafes / takeaways in Central London that can give me something great to eat for lunch or dinner. Any locals (or anybody else) know of any place that will do something special?

Also, what are the best Sushi bars in London?

Thanks :)

  1. www.margaritalocas.co.uk

I love the place! I live close so I'm always there, steady on the sambuca though, it's lethal =]

  2. well nothing is cheap in london right now but i would say go to the enterprise restaurant and there is a really good sushi bar right near it ( the name slips me at the moment ) where the food rotates on a conveyor belt and u choose which dish u like hopes this helps mate cheers

  3. Le Mercury in Angel is a lovely little French restaurant and has really really nice food and nice atmosphere.

Fatoush on Edgeware road for best Lebanese food in London

Belgo in Covent Garden has a deal Monday-Thurs where you pay the time you arrive (e.g arrive at 6.30 pay £6.30). It has Belgian food (and great beers!)

Gili Gulu in Covent Garden has all you can eat sushi and noodles for £15.

La porchetta pizza (there are a few in London) do amazing pizzas

  4. For good value, tasty Mexican head to Wahaca near Covent Garden

For fresh, good value sushi you should try the Japan Centre on Piccadilly

  5. There's a really nice noodle bar in Soho on Old Compton St. I can't remember the name but it's really cheap and nice, looks kinda tacky from the outside but has Laksa for 4 pounds which was really yummy. If you wander around that area there are lots of cheap and tasty eats.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with Sushi in London as it's not that great compared to other places in the world but if you're from somewhere else in the UK then it's probably better than what you get there! There are a few restaurants around central London here that are recommended. http://trustedplaces.com/places/uk/londo...
