What are some great places to eat at in Vancouver, Canada? (We will have both adults and kids in our group, so we are looking for the normal family price range? Nothing fancy or expensive, just fun and great food.)

  1. Try Chambar, it is a Belgian themed restaurant - fine dining so dress your best!

  2. The Macaroni Grill on Davie Street is a good restaurant for families, the food is yummy, the portions are huge, and the it's near the beach, sea-wall, etc. so you can go for a walk to burn off all the pasta after dinner!

White Spots aren't the greatest for adult food (average I'd sau) but the Pirate Packs are fun for kids and a great deal. The restaurants are very family friendly, and you can find White Spots all over Vancouver (off the top of my head I can think of 7).

If your kids like sushi (I see kids eating sushi all the time in Vancouver) there is no shortage of sushi places that are family friendly and inexpensive.  Shabusen (one on South Granville and one downtown on Burrard St.) are yummy, and at the Burrard one a family/large group can sit in boat-style tables in the restaurant- fun for kids and adults alike.

  3. Try the Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown, great atmosphere, good food, great prices.  If you can ditch the kids, and want an exeptional meal...check out Parkside on Haro.

  4. cafe crepe has really cheap but tastey food. its great for a quick meal and its something different from the usual dinner of pasta or meat and potatoes :)
