Great places to visit?

Question

I’m looking to go on a weekend getaway alone for 4 days. Anyone have any suggestions? Airfare and travel time aren’t issues. I was thinking about Aruba, but I’m open to anywhere outside of the US. Thanks for any input!

I recommend to you the completely unspoilt and unexplored Isle of Bute in Scotland, easily reached from Glasgow International Airport by train to Wemyss Bay (pronounced "weems") then a 35 minute ferry crossing. Aruba is great. Another possibility in the Caribbean is St Maarten - half French and half Dutch. Iceland is really interesting for a short break. In Europe, you could visit Amsterdam - I used to take long weekends there when I lived in Syracuse. It's much easier now that I'm living in Italy. There's always something interesting going on there and it's extremely easy to get around. You can easily spend a day at the beach in Scheveningen or Zandwijk am Zee.

4 days is no time at all to see some of the cool places.. and if it takes 1 day to get there.. well .. so tell us where you live...
