I'm looking for a place to go for Valentine's Day. I don't mind something a little pricey as long as the food and service is amazing. Any ideas?

  1. Hy's Steakhouse yes the food is amazing and the ambiance really comfortable.  It's downtown.

    La Castile, on the Dundas just west of 427 is fabulous, the food exquisite, service impeccable.  They even have a separate piano bar and you can order food there as well but the main dining room is the way to go if you want to impress.

    I've been going there for many years and I'm still impressed.

  2. You can go to mandarin except it is a bit pricey (but thats wat u wants ) or go to Swiss Chalet or Montana's ! i hope i helped you!!

  3. Alice Fazooli's in Mississauga - It used to be a great Crab Shack but it still serves Shrimp Angel Hair Pasta.  I love food cooked in wine.  That's romantic and the atmosphere is warm.

  4. mandarin..lol...or casey's

  5. Baton Rouge, Epic at the Fairmount Royal York, Jack Astor's, Izakaya, Red Lobster...

    Those are my favourites listed in order!  I attached some links, and you can browse dine.to if my recommendations aren't what you are looking for!

  6. Wow, I can't believe all the suggestions for chain restaurants... where's the thrill in mass produced, mass marketed, every location the exact same, corporate restaurants?

    How about taking a chance on one of these independently owned gems;

    My favourite, Salad King, just by Yonge and Dundas, cheap and delicious Thai food. For Valentines sit upstairs for a more formal dinner - downstairs is better for a loud, shoulder to shoulder, people watching experience.  Definitely better and CHEAPER than Casey's or Mandarin.

    Le Select - mmmmmm,  steak and frites, best French dining in the city, kind of pricey though. Wellington Street, downtown.

    For a more unique dining experience, try Julie's Cuban on Dovercourt. The building formerly housed a diner and didn't change much in appearance for it's transformation into it's current role as a hidden treasure of a Cuban restaurant on a quiet street. Again, kind of pricey, but worth it.

    Trimurti on Queen Street - the best Indian food in the city, the price is surprisingly cheap for a intimate sit down dinner on Queen.

    The Rivoli on Queen West is always a winner too. Be sure to have the Siam Wookie Balls for an appetizer, the taste is as terrific as the name. p**p next door to the legendary Horseshoe Tavern (open for their 60th year) for a pint, catch a band.

    Reservations are suggested for all. See the links below to the sites.

    Or read the restaurant reviews in NOW Magazine and pick a high rated one, just don't go to Jack Astor's or The Keg. Speaking of the Keg, for a truly great beef experience try Barbarian's Steak House, but what out, the price will leave your pockets empty.
