Great restaurants in Vancouver?

Question

What are some really great restaurants in Vancouver?

I'm heading over there for a vacation, and I just thought to see what some people's opinions are. =D

And please recommend something!

(I know I should have put this question in Dining Out, but I think I'd give here a try)

There are tons of good eateries in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

For Japanese, the best I have found is Kiyo Sushi, but it is located in the suburb of Richmond.

For more continental food, try Cin Cin on Robson Street.

For Chinese, go to Hon's, also located on Robson Street.

Not giving any idea on the type of restaurant that you are interested in ( " Great ", does not really do it ), I will give you a few, that have a pretty good combination of Food, Service, and ambiance.

On second thought, that actually could be the meaning of "Great".

Well here we go.

CARDERRO:  AT Coal Harbor, North end of Denman street.  Great Scene, good food, pretty people, always busy.

BRIDGES:  In Grandville Island.  Great patio, good food, a nice bar, a place that you may make new friends.

Both of these are in West End, Downtown Vancouver.

well for sure since you're going to be in the area you

should really try something that you haven't had before .

Since there is such a strong Asian influence in vancouver

i suggest you try pho.

its vietnamese soup, one of the tastiest things you will ever eat .

and also very affordable .

I'm not going to specify a restaurant because usually there is one on every block .

also i say for for sushi !!

there is a really good place on granville street called excellent sushi .

VERY affordable

you can get 22 pieces for $5.00

Bridges in Grandville island. It's amazing the view is breathtaking.

Al Porto is italian restaurant in Gastown is really really good.

Saltaire in west vancouver it's really good.

These three are my top. I really recommend them!!

There is a great restaurant on Robson street, just past the Bute intersection.  I can't think of the name but if I recall, I'll edit this post.  There were several others on Robson street, so you really can' tgo wrong if you decide to go for a walk down the strip.
