Who has/had the greatest arm as a catcher? Not just going by stats but by watching games live I believe Benito Santiago had a cannon arm,l maybe not the best but incredible considering he threw from his knee's all the time.

  1. Russel Martin

  2. I will agree with you about Benito Santiago.  But don't forget about the Great Hall of Famer, Johnny Bench.  He was the all arround Catcher's Catcher, in my opinion.  He could hit, field, and had a rifle for an arm.  Very rarely did you steal a base on Bench.  Don't forget, he also played some third and first base.  He was a great athlete.

Pudge Rodriguez currently of the Yankees, reminds me a lot of Bench.  He has all of the same tools.

  3. jose molina is on fire throwing out about 48% of the runners

  4. Yogi

  5. Johnny Bench. I read his biography and he was able to fit 5 Baseballs in a single hand. Thats a pretty strong arm!

  6. Wow, how are people not saying Yadier Molina?  This guy has an insane arm!

Other than him, Ivan Rodriguez during his prime.

  7. Bengie Melina

  8. Yadier Molina has the Best arm in the game today

  9. QUICK NAME THAT MOLINA! JOSE!

  10. Ernie "The Schnozz" Lombardi  had one of the best arms ever for a catcher.  It was so strong they considered using him as a pitcher.

  11. Not even a close second,..Pudge Rodriguez in his prime

just because Bench could hold 5 baseballs in one hand means nothing, former Pirate pitcher Jim Bibby could do the same thing.

  12. Pudge rodriguez during his prime, absolute bullet. Right now, jose molina has a good percentage thrown out.
