  1. Really too tough to call, but two of the best were Frazier's hook, and Hearn's right hand.

  2. The one Mike Weaver hit Big John Tate with.

The one Marciano hit Walcott with.

  3. left hook i will have to go with joe frazier or mike tyson right hand i"ll say ali

  4. Thomas Hearns' cross for the right.

And while I think it's easy to jump on the Frazier bandwagon, Joe Bugner claimed that Gerry Cooney's hook was better than Frazier's.

By the way he filleted Gene Fullmer, can I say that Ray Robinson had the best hook?  Can't get that one out of my head.

  5. teah

  6. David Tua's hook was terrifying

  7. DAVID TUA is the best for me

  8. joe frazier best left hook artist ever he relied on his left hook the best right hand theres alot too choose from ill say ali

  9. When I think of left hooks, the first fighter that comes to my mind is Joe Frazier.  He of course is famous for many knockouts using that punch as he had limited power in his right hand and famous for sending Ali to the canvas with it.

When I think of right hands, I cannot forget the right hand that Thomas Hearns hit Roberto Duran with leaving him out cold on the canvas.  Hitman was an appropriate name for Hearns and that right hand of his was devastating.

    Honorable mention:

    Left hook:

    J.C. Chavez

    Ruben Olivares

    Sugr Ray Robinson

    Sonny Liston

    Gerry Cooney

    Pipino Cuevas

    Henry Cooper

    Floyd Patterson

    Right hand:

    Rocky Marciano

    Carlos Monzon

    Michael Spinks

    Roberto Duran

    Max Baer

    Earnie Shavers

    Ingemar Johansson

    Power even in both hands:

    Bob Foster

    George Foreman

    Joe Louis

    Jack Dempsey

    Archie Moore

  10. Best left hook - Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

    Best Right - Erik morales

  11. MUHAMED ALI DUH FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY STING LIKE A BEE

  12. Best Left Hook:  Joe Frazier

    Best Right Hand:  Sonny Liston

  13. The best and most famous left hook was when Henry cooper knocked Cassus Clay as he was known in the 60's to the floor and he had to be helped back to his corner then the infamous ripped Glove bought him some time to recover even Ali said many years later he felt as though he when back to his ancestors

Greatest right hand too many to mention just look at Joe frazer,Ali,Tyson fights :)***

  14. i dont no but today even sill he is gettin on now  its oscar  the golden boy.

  15. Left Hook: Mike Tyson (Devastating!)

    Right Hand: Ali

  16. Left Hook- Sugar Ray Robinson &  Mike Tyson. Just look at there opponents when they landed it. They go to sleep! Zzzzzzz..

Right hand- Tommy Hearns, & Terrible Morales had great right hand for a featherweight!! Bernard Hopkins also had a awsome Right hand!   I don't think I can just pick one for each question. There are just too many great fighters over  time that made the Punch look Great!!

  17. GREATEST LEFT HOOK, BOB FOSTER

    BEST RIGHT HAND, JOE LOUIS

  18. the best left hook ever was joe frazier and the best right hand came from tommy hearns.joe frazier was known for having an amazing left hook and tommy hearns right hand is what made him famous.

  19. Mike Tyson had the deadliest left hook in boxing history.  In his prime thoughts of that punch kept would be opponents up at night.

The title of best right hook has to go to Marciano.  He put many an opponent to sleep with it and it seemed to come out of nowhere

  20. to me, i like roy jones jr left hook, tysons left hook, and joe fraziers left hook....

the best right hand is going to marciano and ali and foreman

  21. I have never seen a better left look than the one Rubin "Hurricane" Carter used to obliterate Florentino Fernandez.  It was from that fight that I saw why boxing has the old axiom "Never hook with a hooker."

I like Tommy Hearns' right hand. Roberto had hands of stone (at least at lightweight) but he also had a chin of granite -- until Tommy crushed it with that right hand.

In both cases the fighters made consistent use of their best weapons.

  22. As far as left hooks go most people will agree that frazier's left hook was the most deadly however both sugar ray robinson and charley burley had the terrific left hooks that often stunned opponents or knocked them out however frazier is the only fighter i know of that consistently used the left hook to finish his opponents, as far as right hand goes there are many people who could qualifiy for that Ali had a terric right cross but his right hand relied more on speed than one punch knock out power, Thomas Hearns had a ferocious right hand that often left his opponents laying flat on the canvas, at the lighter weights duran had considerable power as well but i think hearns was stronger. other strong fighters with good right hands were Joe Louis, marciano (although he used his suzie q as a finisher rather than a one punch knock out hit)

PS another fighter that should be considered is khaosai galaxy,he probably has the most powerful left hand in the history of his division and probably all lower weight divisons as well (he knocked out all of his opponents with it) however he used a low left to the body rather than a conventional left hook to finish off his opponents.

  23. Left hook---cooney and righthand----mikes, spinx jinx.

  24. Hands down, Thomas Hearns had the best right hand EVER.
