  1. Hi Amos,

The price of gas varies greatly depending on where you are in Greece, so there isn't one answer. Some areas are around 1.35 euros/liter (news reports actually says it's closer to 1.40 euros/liter as of today). Some are upwards of 1.85 euros/liter.

    I'll translate that for you.

    3.85 liters = 1 gallon

    1.35 euros x 1.55 (exchange rate for dollars) = 2.09 dollars

    so

    3.85 liters x 2.09 dollars = 8.06 dollars/gallon (minimum)

If you go to an island, it will certainly be more because it costs money and more fuel to get the gas there on a ferry. On Crete, for example, my friends tell me that it costs 1.75/liter.

    1.75 euros x 1.55 (conversion to dollars) = 2.71 dollars

    3.85 liters x 2.71 dollars = 10.44 dollars/gallon

If you had a scooter, it might not be such a huge expense. but if you fill up a car, it could easily go over 100-150 dollars.

I hope that gives you a good idea.

  2. As reported on 06/29/08, the price for regular unleaded gas in Greece ranges from 1,19 to 1,28 Euro per liter.

This amounts to $7,14 - $7,67 per gallon, based on an exchange rate of 0,633 Euro for 1 Dollar.

Prices are for Greek mainland, and may rise round $0,25 per gallon on islands.

  3. 1.38 euro per litre

  4. I think 1.30 euros per litre..

  5. At today's prices, it is roughly $7.00 — $10.50 per gallon, depending on region.
