The free agent is keen on staying in Ligue 1 and despite a profligate campaign with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 last season, wants a lucrative contract which he does not deserve
While talking to media, Ajaccio coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Dupont said that although he is very much interested in attaining the services of Brazilian striker Brandao, the former Olympique de Marseille man needs to make some financial concessions if he wants to be part
of the Corsican project.
Dupont fears that Brandao’s wage demands could derail the transfer and feels that the Brazilian needs to lower down his wage demands which are indeed stratospheric considering the player’s form over the past two seasons.
“This can actually derail financially. But I sincerely believe that the project can attract sports. I expect a response very quickly. Or if the project interests him and if he is willing to make sacrifices. If his demands are much more than our finances
can handle, we will stop there.”
Dupont’s statements clearly mean that the French tactician will not break the bank in order to secure Brandao’s signature.
The 32-year-old’s wage demands are proving to be a stumbling block for a move to Ajaccio. L’Equipe claims that the Brazilian wants an annual net salary of 1.2 million euros (100,000 Euros a month) and a signing bonus of between 500,000 to 800,000 euros.
Such demands are certainly extravagant for a team like Ajaccio who only recently won promotion to Ligue 1.
AS Saint-Etienne were also interested in signing the Brazilian but have dismissed the player’s profile as they are also unwilling to invest so much money on a player who is reaching the twilight years of his career.
Although he is a free agent, Brandao is keen on staying in Ligue 1. However, for that, the controversial striker must first revise his absolutely senseless financial claims for two main reasons – his image in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and his woeful goalscoring form.
In 82 Ligue 1 games, Brandao scored just 17 goals for Marseille – a scoring record that in no way augers a lucrative salary.
No suitor will be willing to break the bank for Brandao so it now falls on the player to be reasonable.
