Greek cell phone number?

Question

i think it would be cheaper if i get some Greek number so that i dont pay a lot for roaming...What would be the best network to chose?I guess there are more then one...And is it expensive to call other countries from mobile?For example Serbia.And sms with other countries?

And,yes,how much the number cost?And do you get some credit with it?

I assume that you have a phone that is "unlocked" so that you can change the sim card.  The sim card will cost about 5 euros.  That will give you a Greek phone number and a few credits...... not so many though, so you will end up having to buy some additional time for your phone.  

Keep in mind that incoming calls are free....u only pay for calls that you place from your phone.  

I found it to be somewhat expensive to call foreign countries----  it was cheaper to buy a telekarta from the kiosk.  These phone cards can be used at the public phones that you find on the street.

p.s.  I don't know if any company is better than the rest.  I used WIND, but there is also Cosmote and Vodaphone.

a prepaid sim card package costs around 5 euros-i use "what's up" by cosmote.if you top up the card and you have a tri-band phone it will work in the usa for sms messaging.

if you mean that you are vactioning/visitng and want a cell but dont want to pay the extra charges from your service provider... well do what i did..go to the local greek cell phone store buy one of those "pay as you go phones" ... and thenbuy the sim cards.. they have them at the place and also at the little boots along the streets in greece.. its easy and cheap but make sure to stock up on the sim cards if ur gonna use it alot b/c it runs out fast and it only works in greece

Get a pay as you go cell with a prepaid sim card package. Its not bad and yes you can sms to other countries.
