Venus is Roman mythology.  In Greek her name is Aphrodite.

Woody Allen made a movie called Mighty Aphrodite.  He's pretty obsessed with Greek mythology and the dithyramb.

There are many references to Cain (of Cain and Able- sons of Adam and Eve).  There is a country song called Half of My Blood is Cain's Blood.  There is a movie called Raising Cain.
