  1. Greeks are more like Southern Europeans not Eastern Europeans there more like other Mediterranean people

  2. The Greeks came down from the CentralEastern Balkans into the mainland Greece.

Genetically speaking there are 3 subgroups of the Hellenic race: Doric, Ionic and Aeolian. The Doric groupd (Spartans and Macedonians) were known to be the whitest with more Alpine elements to them. The Ionians and Aeolians were more of an Atlanto Mediterranean stock. Cretans descended from the Minoans, which they were the earliest Greeks, and were known to be the tallest and yet the darkest of all groups.  DNA tests today have shows that Greeks are  a Mediterranean -Alpine- Dinaric mix just like their ancient ancestors.

Here is an interesting site about the origins of Greeks and the DNA testings done today:

  3. Much of the Greek populations moved down from Southern Russia (surrounding the Black Sea) during the last Ice Age...

Not only does DNA bear this out, but also their languages share many similarities!

  4. Greeks originally came from Europe moved down into the Mediterrarean after the recorded flood. They became know as the Minoans who where about 1500 years before the Greco roman empire but still about 2000 years after Sumerian culture.

The proto -indians that settled there I think are known as afro- asiatics
